| How long have you been cooking and what actually gave you the taste for cooking ? | |
| Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!!! As you know, this is when my shedule is most busy. What’s more, I am very conservative regarding cooking… So Mother Christmas ensures both day-to-day and Christmas cooking! But I may well get started one day with Cookshow, it seems so much easier with the videos! | |
| What's your favorite dish and why ? | |
| As you can tell, I am rather plump… I love food and despite my hard work on December 24th, I manage to eat a complete Christmas Dinner: Christmas Pudding, Turkey, mince pies, candy cane, fruitcake…are my favorite Christmas dishes. However, Mother Christmas actually put me on a diet… I need to be very svelte to climb down all those chimneys…Ho, Ho, Ho! It’s a struggle! | |
| Your greatest culinary memory ? | |
| All the Christmas treats that children leave out for me and the reindeers on Christmas Eve. When they leave out mince pies or Christmas cakes and biscuits, I sometimes have a nibble, but mostly, I put all the food in a giant doggy bag on the back of my sleigh and take it back to Lapp Land. On Boxing Day, Mother Christmas lays on a huge spread for the Elves with all the food I have brought back. I also love it when kids leave Reindeer Food for the team that pulls my sleigh. | |
| A restaurant you would like to recommend and the reasons why ? | |
| Mother Christmas is such a great cook that I don’t need to go to the restaurant. For the holidays especially, she has many lip smacking Christmas recipes that makes wonderful holiday dishes for our family and friends. And Cookshow has a great selection too: check out http://www.cookshow.com/search/search.php?type=2&type2=1&tag=Christmas | |
| What are your favorite works or heroes (author or book, film director/actor or movie, paintings or painters ,etc.)? | |
| St. Nicholas, who was a very shy man and wanted to give money to poor people without them knowing about it. It is said that one day, he climbed the roof of a house and dropped a purse of money down the chimney. It landed in the stocking which a girl had put to dry by the fire! | |
| A place for holidays to recommend and the reasons why ? | |
| I have actually never taken time away from my very busy holiday schedule… I live in the colder regions of this world and it only gets daylight for 2 hours per day in the winter. So I could do with some holidays in an exotic and sunny location just after Christmas day! | |
| Your crasiest dream ? | |
| Hard to admit but I dream of swapping my Reindeer Sleigh with ski-doos, allowing me to travel quicker from my home in Finnish Lapland, to all houses where Christmas is celebrated. | |
| What non-cooking related website would you like to recommend ? | |
| I must admit that my busy schedule has not allowed me to surf a lot lately… However, I know that Mother Christmas’ favorite is Cookshow without any doubts especially for its great recipes… | |
| A Cookshow member or recipe that you particularly like ? | |
| I particularly appreciate jgrehenry, his recipes are a great confort to me after Christmas night: http://www.cookshow.com/home/jgreghenry-5-1-1804 | |
| Anything else ? | |
| Cooking is the most magic Christmas present you can ever give as a sign of love Hohoho, Meerrryyyy Christmas ! |
